Watching Spielberg's remake of West Side Story again. Just the whole dang thing I think "Why?".

Don't know how they managed it, something in the audio mixing perhaps but they succeeded in sucking the inherent drama out of Bernstein's thrilling score.

I still remember the round of applause the original restored cinema version got at the GFT. Electrifying wide-screen experience, the modern remake is just completely missing that vitality.
