Recorded on the London Underground - South Kensington to Swiss Cottage on the Fleet lines around Charing Cross, and the Central towards Mile End.

@kenshirriff so a slightly (but only slightly) more advanced version of these, which made up the automatic train control and signalling system of the #VictoriaLine on the #LondonUnderground when it originally opened. Each block contains one gate with eg red for AND and yellow for OR.

@tubemapper I also note the vintage maple slat flooring (and remember smoking was allowed on these trains for the entire time they were originally in service - 1938 to 1985).

@tubemapper These were in service until the 1980s (only a few lasted that long) - and I travelled on them as a child (the Bakerloo line was the last to still have any in service).

"Commuters in London are facing severe disruptions this morning (Friday 4) after a major fire brought Tube trains to a halt.
"The blaze began underneath railway arches in Roxeth Green Avenue in South Harrow around 1am.
"London Fire Brigade (LFB) deployed 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines to contain the fire, which was under control by 4am.
"There are no reports of injuries."
