Cai<p>Fedi, I'm seeking recommendations for web-based messaging services that offer voice calls and do NOT require a mobile app or a phone number to register.</p><p>I'm moving internationally and my daddo does not have a smart phone. I'm looking for something he can pull up on his desktop and that I can probably have on my phone, so I can send him photos and chats while he's at his PC.</p><p>As always, something with some consciousness behind it is preferred, but most of the major popular apps are out anyway because they require a phone number to be tied to them.</p><p>Thank you in advance! Boosts appreciated ❤️</p><p><a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/fediHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fediHelp</span></a> <a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/lookingForRecommendations" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lookingForRecommendations</span></a></p>

BeefGriller (He/Him/His)<p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFedi</span></a>, as I’m <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/LookingForRecommendations" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>LookingForRecommendations</span></a> for an <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/EMail" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>EMail</span></a> app for Android. Something close in look and functionality of <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/iOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>iOS</span></a>’s mail app if possible. <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/FOSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>FOSS</span></a> is a definite plus!</p>

I just picked up an inexpensive tablet and have had only Apple experience for the last 18 years or so. <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>AskFedi</span></a></p><p>ETA: I currently use Ice Cubes on iOS, but it seems they’re an Apple-only developer for the app. Happy to be proven wrong.</p>

That Frisian Girl-ish<p><span>I think I mentioned that some time ago, I got this anachronistic seeming radio for the kitchen. It does DAB+, internet radio, podcasts, and in a pinch, serves as bluetooth speaker for my phone. So realistically, it can play anything I could imagine.<br>Currently, it serves practically exclusively as "Radio Dunkle Welle" in a box. Which I could well live with!<br><br>BUT. Do you have any recommendations what else I could listen to while doing the dishes? Like favourite radio stations, or fun podcasts?<br><br>EDIT: If you have a horn to toot, this is the time. Shamelessly recommend your own stuff to me.<br><br></span><a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/LookingForRecommendations" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LookingForRecommendations</a> <a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/Music" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Music</a> <a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/Podcast" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Podcast</a></p>

River J. Hopkins<p>Fellow <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/authors" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>authors</span></a>; what is the best service you've used to distribute your <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/PressReleases" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PressReleases</span></a>? I write my own, so I'm just looking for a legit service. I've been scammed before, so I would like to get some pointers from those with more experience in this area. 🖤 </p><p><a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/WritingCommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WritingCommunity</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/WritersLife" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WritersLife</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/Authordon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Authordon</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/Writerdon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Writerdon</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/AmWriting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AmWriting</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/PressRelease" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PressRelease</span></a> <a href="https://writing.exchange/tags/LookingForRecommendations" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LookingForRecommendations</span></a></p>

That Frisian Girl-ish<p><span>For a long time, I used foobar2000 as my audio player now, but recently, I grew dissatisfied with it. It seems clunky, roundabout, and while it is true that you can make it jump it through any hoops I wish, I just want to listen to music, not teach my music player tricks.<br>Use case, I don't want media library bloat; the files are on a local network storage, sorted pretty neatly as I want it, so I'd appreciate it if the player can just work with that as is, and I don't have to do bs double work like making playlists for albums that are </span><i><span>just like that in one folder</span></i><span> already. Would be neat if the player also had some audio book features, like changing speed 10% up without pitching it up, and bookmarks.<br>And unfortunately, it has to work with Windows.<br></span><a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/lookingForRecommendations" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#lookingForRecommendations</a><span> </span><a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/musicplayer" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#musicplayer</a><span> </span><a href="https://blahaj.zone/tags/windows" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#windows</a></p>
