I loved #JulesVerne's expeditionary contraption stories as a kid, including the gripping #steampunk adventure that is Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. I still have a fond spot for the 1954 #Disney film of the same name, although I now acknowledge how terribly racist these #imperialist #exploitation fantasies of Western Europe and America are. But some parts still inspire. With deeper understanding we may still take something good from that, like #LovecraftCountry did. #SciFi #racism

I’ve been using Tubi a little lately, mostly because I’m broke and lazy and I wanted to watch Lovecraft Country

Overall low-information review?

Tubi is not bad. Maybe it gets worse the more you use it, but I much prefer ads on Tubi to ads on YouTube. There maybe 4-5 minutes of ads in an hour-long show on Tubi

Lovecraft Country had a little too much gore for me. I didn’t get past Episode 5 but I might keep going. It’s a fantastic book

CNETTubi Gets a Makeover: Brand New Logo, Catchphrase and Color SchemeThe rabbit is here to stay, and you can still stream everything for free, too.

SEHR stark! 😑

Ansonsten eine absolute Empfehlung. 🐙

We watched #LovecraftCountry tonight. The version of #Sinnerman reminded me of Nina Simone. So, I took a dive in the crates, listened to the earliest recorded version by the Sensational Nightingales - an excellent Gospel Version. I then took a detour to the Les Baxter Version, who inappropriately claimed to have written the Song with Will Holt. Peter Tosh Studio1 version is also grand.

Then I listened to Nina Simone and that’s where I ended up at. Listening to #NinaSimone. Incredible. Timeless.

#ReWatch »#LovecraftCountry« (2020) mit Folgen 1-3 (von 10) begonnen. Nach »Get Out« und »Us« war diese Mini-Serie nach dem wundervollen Novellen-Roman meines Lieblings #MattRuff die dritte Glanzleistung, mit der mich #JordanPeele überraschte — und wer mich in Folge DREIMAL so richtig flasht, hat praktisch Freimiete in meinem Hirn. Und Beispiel dafür, dass #JJAbrams nicht NUR Kack baut.

Irre dolles Ensemble. Traut sich Sachen mit Musik machen, die mich heftig umtreiben. youtu.be/eEvK1Zwi9XY

#AudioDramaSunday I've been watching the crowdfunding campaign for Season 2 of #horror #audiodrama #podcast Afflicted @afflictedaudio since the start with bated breath.

The campaign had a rough start for reasons largely out of their control, switching from Seed & Spark to IndieGogo partway through after a calamitous first week, and that set them back in a way that they have never caught up from.

With six days to go, they're at 50% funded. Things aren't looking great. Show creator Tonia Ransom @missdefying is a talented artist and a friend, and I'd really like to see her make a second season of this show that puts #Black, #queer, and other marginalized voices and stories front and center. The show is described as #TrueBlood meets #LovecraftCountry.

I know I'm a supporter. Please boost and share and support.

I can really recommend the series Lovecraft Country. It's been a while seen I have seen such an amazing and original series!

Its set in the 50's or 60's in North America. The main characters are people of colour. The series has elements of horror, fantasy and skyfi in it. And when you think it can't get any weirder, it keeps on delevering!
