Yesterday, I finished Mass Effect Andromeda. I know, I know, it's been out there a long while, and it's hardly news. Still, I'll give an opinion.
It's not a bad game, all in all. It set out to accomplish much, and often fell just a little short of that, which feels worse than not trying at all. Certainly worth it for a run. It has a lot of artificial lengthener in it, lots of collect&fetch. It's a different game than the Mass Effect trilogy, and Ryder is no Shepard.
I might be an old witch here, but a lot of the characters feel unbearably young, and there's so much sugar in the stories. Maybe that was on purpose, because ME3 could be pretty dark in places. But that also leads to the story arc feeling less deep.
As I said, I felt entertained, there was a satisfying boom at the end of the main story. But wouldn't replay in a hurry. Which is an itch that the trilogy definitely created. #gaming #MassEffectAndromeda
