stroz (he/him)<p>I don't fucking know how this works yet, but I just flashed my new T-Deck with <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> </p><p>Got one for the eldest as well</p>
<a href="https://masto.es/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://masto.es/tags/LoRa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LoRa</span></a> <a href="https://masto.es/tags/lailusionesreal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lailusionesreal</span></a></p>
Enron Hubbard<p><a href="https://tilde.zone/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> is a meshaging app for sending meshages</p>
Ben<p>New <a href="https://defcon.social/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> project: trying to reuse an outdoor solar light as a node to see if it actually works:</p><p><a href="https://meshtastic.org/docs/community/enclosures/rak/harbor-breeze-solar-hack/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">meshtastic.org/docs/community/</span><span class="invisible">enclosures/rak/harbor-breeze-solar-hack/</span></a></p><p>I ordered two lights from Lowe's last week and some external antennas on Amazon. </p><p>I already have some mini radios from Rokland I panic bought before the tariffs. </p><p><a href="https://store.rokland.com/products/rakwireless-mini-meshtastic-starter-kit-us915-rak19003-4631-sku-115093" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">store.rokland.com/products/rak</span><span class="invisible">wireless-mini-meshtastic-starter-kit-us915-rak19003-4631-sku-115093</span></a></p><p>Picked up some gorilla brand waterproof caulking at the hardware store for $8 after work today. </p><p>Going to assemble it and see how the battery holds up in my partially shady back yard. </p><p>If this works it easily could be a really low cost solar node for under $50.</p>
Les Orchard<p>I still don’t quite know what I’m gonna do with this <a href="https://masto.hackers.town/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> radio tamagotchi, but it’s prettier now</p>
stfn :raspberrypi: :python:<p>I removed my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> solar node because I don't want to get it damaged during construction work, and now I need another use for my collection of 18650s</p>
Joe Steinbring :thisisfine:<p>I might need to double check that my <a href="https://toot.works/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> node at <a href="https://toot.works/tags/UWM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>UWM</span></a> is still there ... and plugged in. I haven't seen it from my house in 2 weeks.</p>
Les Orchard<p>Test printed a case for my <a href="https://masto.hackers.town/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> radio tamagotchi that seemed promising, measurements-wise, with my cheapest PLA. So far, pretty good? Probably can use some filing down in a few spots, but at least all the parts fit!</p><p><a href="https://www.printables.com/model/561389-heltec-v3-case-for-meshtastic" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">printables.com/model/561389-he</span><span class="invisible">ltec-v3-case-for-meshtastic</span></a></p>
Nathan 🇵🇷<p>for the last 24 hours my T1000 <a href="https://mastodon.bsd.cafe/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> sheep tracker has showed the location of my herd, today the GPS only shows one location and refuses to update.</p><p>All nodes show the same incorrect GPS. </p><p>Only 1 node is allowed to gather phone location data, the T-1000 has onboard GPS and the G1-station has fixed gps.</p><p>How do I fix this?</p>
Les Orchard<p>So my little <a href="https://masto.hackers.town/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> radio tamagotchi has a battery now, but it no longer fits the hermit crab style makeshift case I made out of the packaging in which it came.</p><p>Looking for a nice model to 3D print, but most I’ve found assume a smaller 1100mAh battery instead of this one</p>
Mark :wa: :nd:<p>Someone in my area sent up a drone with a <a href="https://weird.autos/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> node. It reached as far north as west point and as far south and Brooklyn. I found out there are a lot of people in my area outside of cell coverage with meshtastic. I’m just not quite able to connect. If we get three times as many people we would probably all connect.</p>
Finn<p>Finally my Meshtastic case for the Xiao ESP32S3 with Wio-SX1262 LoRa hat is finally finished!</p><p>While assembling I already thought about some improvements I can add later. Yesterday I ordered two more of those which means I will need 2 more cases 😉 </p><p><a href="https://www.printables.com/model/1264151-meshtastic-xiao-esp32s3-wio-sx1262-case" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">printables.com/model/1264151-m</span><span class="invisible">eshtastic-xiao-esp32s3-wio-sx1262-case</span></a></p><p><a href="https://toot.fan/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> <a href="https://toot.fan/tags/3dprinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3dprinting</span></a> <a href="https://toot.fan/tags/lora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lora</span></a></p>
enot<p>What's with roughly half of rx packets I see on <a href="https://masto.hackers.town/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> being bad? Just poor signal or local congestion?</p>
Les Orchard<p>I don’t entirely know what to do with them yet, but I flashed my little <a href="https://masto.hackers.town/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> nodes and they already have 186 friends??</p>
Chris<p>Succesfully managed to get my <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>meshtastic</span></a> node connected to the local mesh and a msg on 'long fast' through \oo/<br>I am yet to recieve a msg, keen to close the loop and know its all working</p>

If you’re interested in <a href="https://windbag.org/tags/Meshtastic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Meshtastic</span></a> in the Puget Sound area, check it out. It shows chat messages, neighboring nodes, node details, and a mesh map.</p><p>I added mapping for message and traceroute propagation, who heard your chats, zero-hop neighbors, and more.</p><p>Check it out: <a href="https://meshinfo.gessaman.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">meshinfo.gessaman.com/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Learn more:<br><a href="https://pugetmesh.org/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">pugetmesh.org/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://windbag.org/tags/Seattle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Seattle</span></a> <a href="https://windbag.org/tags/PugetMesh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PugetMesh</span></a></p>

It has been some fun as well to take a mobile node on my bicycle and try to find other nodes.</p><p>Mesh networks are fun (they remind me of Usenet in many ways) and if you are successful building them you learn the limits of flooding algorithms by first-hand experience.</p><p>I have one of these <a href="https://store.rokland.com/products/wismesh-pocket" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">store.rokland.com/products/wis</span><span class="invisible">mesh-pocket</span></a> and I am looking forward to getting some kind of MQTT gateway next.</p>
