Of course, if you do have long-time plans for your personal #knowledgemanagement, you should not use proprietary tools like #Obsidian, #OneNote, #Evernote and alike.

You also should think of switching to a much better (learnability, portability/compatibility, typobility, logic, featureset) markup syntax like #orgdown which is used in #Emacs #Orgmode (among other tools).

But if you start with Org-mode, you need to know the right way of doing it, as so many web pages recommend. Here's my take:

For anything that requires a certain amount of privacy/security, for anything long-term (avoiding #lockin effects), OneNote was a bad idea in the first place.

Ordner (pro Fach) anlegen kann, mit Unterordnern (Themen) und Seiten (Unterthemen/Stunden)? Dazu Einfügen von Bildern, Zeichnen mit Stift, Tabellen, Export als pdf?
Und traumhaft wäre ein Import aus Onenote...

#OneNote is such a piece of crap. Getting any data out of it in any usable form is way too complicated.

Initially used it for my #DnD5e notes in 2017 but switched away from it way back in 2018 or 2019 towards a more open, markdown-supporting #Notion. But that felt too slow with internal linking and I switched to #Obsidian. Would have gone for #logseq if I’d had known because yay open source. Now I’m already in too deep in Obsidian

Earlier on in the project I was disgruntled because my attempts at building a scripted import-all one-and-done didn't fair well. Now I'm glad it didn't, because reviewing the material has proved valuable. Some things were flat out deleted - yeah no one wants or needs to see that - while others are "oh wow! I'd forgotten about that". Now I'm feeling all warm and glowy, and liking it.

Da in meinen Anforderungsprofilen eine langfristige Toolwahl für #PKM-Werkzeuge (ich nutze häufiger die TLA #PIM) dominiert, ist jeglicher #lockin-Effekt aus meiner Sicht zu meiden, wenn geht.

Darf ich Sie fragen, wie Sie diesen Umstand einschätzen bzw. weshalb Ihnen langfristige Datenverluste oder Migrationsaufwände offensichtlich weniger schlimm erscheinen?

Es ist ja nicht so, als ob wir gerade mit #OneNote nicht schon Situationen hatten, wo durch Abkündigung einer Version die Nutzer:innen #Datenverlust hinnehmen mussten. Ganz zu schweigen vom Verlust der #Privatsphäre durch #Cloud-Zwang.

Under det gångna året har jag haft rollen som Produktägare och de två verktygen jag använt allra mest är en applikation för anteckningar och en annan applikation för backloggen. Eftersom vi alla sitter fast i träsket Microsoft är det #OneNote som gäller för anteckningar men nu har jag fått upp ögonen för #Obsidian. Thinking about whether I should move to #ObsidianMD and off of #OneNote. I've been sticking to OneNote since it's robust and has handwriting support, but it also has maddening design choices and glacial development. And it's obviously snoopable by MSFT.

Rund 100 Einträge der alten "ewigen Projekteliste" müssen noch migriert werden, doch davon fallen vermutlich rund 25% wegen Irrelevanz weg.

Meine Lieblingsplugins? Inline Todo, Kanban, DDDot und Note Tabs. Ich habe aber noch ein paar mehr installiert..

Am meisten mag ich gegenüber #OneNote die einfache Erweiterbarkeit / Anpassbarkeit und die API (welche ich mit Python zum Import meiner bisherigen Projekteliste nutze)
