Pocketopia 2025 isn't exactly Backerkit's answer to Kickstarter's ZineQuest, since zines aren't the focus, but it's definitely in the same genre. The stated goal is to be "a celebration of portable easy-to-learn tabletop games". So, as it comes to an end less than a day from now, how has it gone? […]

It annoys me when the media tries to make bank CEO's, and vice presidents out to be regular honorable "nice" people after they die.

The reality is these people are are not honorable people, they are driven by greed and leave a trail of destruction.

They offer no value to humanity in the grand scheme of life.

When the physicists need burner phones, that’s when you know America’s changed | John Naughton | The Guardian theguardian.com/us-news/2025/m

“The looming crisis in the US is beginning to remind people in Europe of the 1930s, when the UK and the US began to realise that Jewish scientists needed to be rescued from the Nazis. About 2,000 scientists and academics fled the fascist countries between 1933 and 1941, fearing for themselves or Jewish family members.”

Audre Lorde famously stated, 'The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house.' Basic cultural skills and fundamental education provide the means to develop one's own tools, articulate ideas, and challenge the master—ultimately dismantling the master's house using both personal and borrowed tools. A lack of tools and knowledge renders one dependent, akin to servitude—an especially critical issue in the #informationage.
