You've seen him as a professional wrestler, an animated demi-god and a fast, furious driver. Are you ready for The Rock as an Oscar winner? Dwayne Johnson is starring in a film written and directed by Benny Safdie, one of the creators of "Uncut Gems" and "The Curse," and co-starring Oscar-nominee Emily Blunt. "The Smashing Machine" checks several classic Oscar-bait boxes — it's a biopic (of MMA champion Mark Kerr) and involves a significant physical transformation (hair and facial prosthetics) and an accent (Midwestern). We'll have to wait until October to see the movie itself, but here's a trailer, courtesy of Daily Beast.

Since the early days of film, there've been stunt designers and performers who make leaping through glass windows, flipping cars and escaping from burning buildings look realistic. Now, they have the chance to get an Oscar for it. Thanks to the campaigning of former stunt performer and "The Fall Guy" director David Leitch, the Academy Board of Governors approved a new category for stunt design, which will start in 2027. Here's more from @Variety. Tell us in the comments the most impressive or memorable movie or TV stunt you can think of.
