Eine abendliche Szene am See. Im Vordergrund stehen zwei kahle schwarze Winterbäume und eine warm scheinende altmodische Laterne auf der Uferpromenade. Links liegt ein langer Ausflugsdampfer mit einem schwarzweißen Rautenmuster und einem aufgemalten offenen Mund, der in Berlin als "Moby Dick" bekannt ist, vor Anker.
Der blau-orangene Abendhimmel spiegelt sich auf der ruhigen, glatten Oberfläche des Sees. Am Horizont ist schwarz das gegenüberliegende bewaldete Ufer zu sehen.

For #SchiffsSamstag here's the Delft Seaways, one of three sister ships operating a passengers and transport route between Dover and Calais. That's France in the distance to the left so she's heading to Dover on this occasion.

We're at sea on a bright day with a cool blue sky and just a little bit of bubbling of clouds on the horizon. The sea is deep, dark blue but mostly calm. The horizon on the left shows a narrow strip of low, dark land. A ship is passing by from left to right in front of us, a small stream of white-topped wave in its wake. The vessel is a couple of hundred metres long with a dark hull, mostly blue with a red bottom just over the water line. It has a sharp prow to a flat bridge. At its aft a long slope runs from the upper decks to the hull suggesting this part of the ship is open to the elements.

For #SchiffsSamstag here's Edda Fonn as she was in 2018 when we saw her, at that time operating for the Norwegian oil industry and featuring a moonpool and underwater vehicle hangar aboard. She was bought later that year by the New Zealand Navy and renamed HMNZS Manawanui.

Last October, while surveying a reef off Samoa, she ran aground and sank, but all 75 people aboard were rescued.

Calm water and a bright but hazy sky form the backdrop to a garishly bright ship travelling slowly past us to the left. The hull is a bright orange-red while the upper deck components are a deep, warm yellow. The vessel is around 80 metres long with a lower, flat half at the aft on which there is machinery that looks to be a cross between a winch and a drill. The bridge rises from just forward of the middle of the ship and looks out over the long, sharp prow.

For #SchiffsSamstag this is Hikawa Maru in Yokohama, 2018. Launched in 1929, she was originally an ocean liner carrying 331 passengers, becoming a hospital ship in World War II, then a cargo ship and back to cruising post-war. In 1961 she was permanently berthed and turned into a hotel, restaurant, and museum ship.

We're at a high elevation on a cruise ship looking across a short stretch of water to another berth on the outskirts of a city. It's a cloudy day and the water is flat. The landscape behind the berth consists of a line of trees partly covering some brick buildings behind with a road bridge passing behind that and over the water that continues to the left out of view. Docked at the berth is an old ocean liner. It's long with a black hull over a thin band of red just above the water level. The deck structures are white and only a few decks high with porthole windows on the lowest and larger windows above. A promenade deck space is on the uppermost of these. A flat bridge forms the front of the upper deck area and is set about a third of the way back from the straight prow.

For #SchiffsSamstag here's the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro back in 2016. Two cruise ships are visiting on this day with Cunard's Queen Victoria getting the dock space beside the city while Royal Princess has to anchor and shuttle its passengers ashore by tender boat.
