It was my best friends wedding (I was DJing) and after the speeches and first dance, no one was dancing. I played a few slow songs then played this.

Let me set the mood… it’s a balmy late summer evening, late 80s in Germany. Young people flog to the village community center to attend what is called a ‚Discoabend‘. Because in the countryside, an actual Disco/ Club was too far away.
But it wasn’t disco music that was played. It was all the hits at the time, one could rock out to. Made you move, made you sweat, made you drink and then move and sweat some more. Repeat…
A live DJ spins records, yup, actual records. There was also alcohol, that made the limbs loose.

I was gonna find a true Rick Roll Video for youse but then I saw this very recent live version from the Glastonbury Festival 2023 and just had to share it. It really shows the positive energy that has prevailed for decades around this song.
