Chris Baldie<p>I bought whetstones a few years back to help keep my knives sharp. And several years later I’m still awful at it. After over an hour of sharpening 6 knives on 4 grit levels, only three of them passed the paper slicing test.<br>Anyone got any proven methods to do this well? Especially on larger knives?</p><p>I also remembered I left my leather strop at the workshop, so improvised with an old leather belt tied to a stool. Worked surprisingly well!</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/sharpen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sharpen</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/sharpening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sharpening</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/kitchen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kitchen</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Whetstone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Whetstone</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/knives" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>knives</span></a></p>

IDK if I'm just feeding it files that it can't handle, or I need to play with it more, or if it isn't really All That.</p><p>What's your experience with Sharpen?<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a></p>
