Ich halte Signal weiterhin für eine gute Alternative. Dass es auch von Sicherheitskreisen genutzt wird, spricht eher für dessen Sicherheit als dagegen. Außerdem handelt es sich um ein von einer Stiftung betriebenes OpenSource-Projekt, das nicht von Tech-Millardären abhängt.
Wenn Du das jetzt aufgrund von #SignalGate ablehnst, schüttest Du das Kind mit dem Bade aus, da ist nichts gewonnen.
Außerdem wäre noch #Threema zu empfehlen, aber das nutzen halt bisher nicht Viele.

Wow! I think what I thought was previously impossible seems to have the best chance of success in a long time - getting my family and friends from Whatsapp to Signal! Up until now things are looking great!

The free PR for Signal by the White House 😂, compared with an upsurge in antipathy toward any company associating themselves with the crazies there (and I feel generally rising anti-Americanism, I am sorry to say my US friends, hold on over there ♥️) has opened a real window of opportunity here.

If you are looking to get people in your life away from Meta, this might be the chance.
