We are losing our snowbirds. 🇨🇦

Spurred by deteriorating U.S.-Canada relations under Donald Trump’s second administration, annexation and #tariff threats, many #snowbirds are selling their U.S. properties en masse, driven by a surge of #Canadian patriotism, fears of hostility, and new restrictive travel rules. This #exodus is poised to deliver a significant economic blow to the U.S., while Canadians rally to boycott American goods and assert their national pride.

Dean Blundell · Canadian Snowbirds Flee U.S. Homes Amid Trump’s Policies: Wave of Canadian Patriotism Is Killing The US Housing MarketBy Dean Blundell

Snowbird: "You don't know from one day to the next what new rule will come into place."

Canadian retired-persons' association spox: "If the relationship continues as cold as it is, I suspect we will see the majority of Canadians changing their plans for next year."

U.S. Lawyer: "It just seems like an assault on an otherwise friendly relationship."

To Clarify: Canadians are NOT showing up in snowbird US locations and of those who do come.....

"Report from Florida, any Canadians (snow birds) showing up are coming down to pack up, forever."

Anon says --
"My MIL snowbirds in FL and she said the Canadians who come are getting the fuck out, including selling any property they may have. Good."

It is 2025. Donald Trump is president. He has been picking on Canada for reasons as dense as buttercream, flip-flopping on tariff threats that have assailed the stock market. At the same time, Trump seems obsessed with claiming Canada for America the way one purchases a new sofa. Canada is fighting back, and outgoing Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has encouraged Canadians not to visit us to the south.
