Team GB Athletes were attending a reception at Buckingham Palace.
Fortnum & Mason organised a party afterwards, but declined to invite anyone from the Paralympic team.

Shocking, but not surprising blatant discrimination from Fortman & Mason with the usual bullshit excuses.
Why is this still going on in 2024?

A study by the Good Schools Guide has revealed that one-third of the athletes in Team GB's squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics that has just ended were privately educated. This marks a significant rise from the 24% seen in the 2016 Rio Olympics GB Team. So the situtation is getting worse, not better.

For comparison, the percentage of the UK population that is privately educated is 7%.

The Independent · One in three of Team GB in Olympics attended private secondary school – analysisBy Eleanor Busby

There are parts of #TeamGB's performance at the #Olympics that have been disappointing or underwhelming, Jade Jones in the Taekwondo being an example of this.

But perhaps that is not the point.

Perhaps these last two weeks have shown the world the best that we, as humans, can be; and how these virtues stand in direct opposition and contradiction to the #UKRiots, the Orcs in #Ukraine, the evil destruction of #Gaza etc

We could all be olympians if we tried.

Xx

I felt the need to crunch some #TeamGB numbers tonight.

The rate at which we have been winning gold medals at the Paris #Olympics is ahead of where we were in 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 (which have all been our best Olympics in terms of medals).

This chart shows how Paris compares to the previous four Olympics 🥇📈:
