@rdm Yes, some scopes (especially some Maks) are hard to collimate. I have an SCT and I collimate it all the time just using the guide posted in the Meade 2080 manual from 1983 (starting on page 54). Works every time! Admittedly, SCT's are easy to collimate compared to reflectors...

One of the real trouble jobs in #astronomy is collimating a reflector telescope. In particular, Maksutov-Cassegrains, like the ETX90, are tricky.
