I just learned that today is International Asexuality Day!

I'm under the asexual spectrum - specifically demisexual. I've often felt lost trying to understand what I should be attracted to. I don't feel it as easily as I thought I should.

But, I learned that it's ok to be different. 💜🤍🖤

Rather than forcing myself to be attracted to a physique, I've learned to admire people as an art instead of an ideal. It's definitely not the same as being sexually attracted but...I can at least feel comfortable saying "You look nice" than feel like I'm lying.

It's also why I'm not interested in a relationship - I'm more interested in a genuine friendship where I'm respected and vice versa. Although, it doesn't have to end up in a romantic/sexual relationship. I need more platonic healthy friendships tbh.

So anyways, Happy International Asexuality Day!!

Ich habe lange überlegen müssen, und es ergibt sich, dass eine meiner Lieblingsfiguren ever, Firaya aus #DerFeuervogelVonIstradar von Ria Winter, demisexuell ist. Es wird nicht benannt, aber wir bekommen einen Einblick in ihre Überlegungen, wann sich bei ihr Anziehung ergibt.

Asexualität kann heißen, dass man nie Sex haben möchte oder derartige Anziehung verspürt, oder noch vieles anderes, denn ...

Asexualität ist ein Spektrum.

Ich spüre z.B. nur sexuelle Anziehung in spezifischem Kink Kontext oder bei tiefer emotionaler Beziehung zu einer Person, während ich sonst gar keine Anziehung oder Verlangen spüre.
