"...In December 2012, Wrapunzel was born. It was a wintery night during Andrea Herzog’s family reunion, and the relatives were brainstorming about what to do with the funky hair wrapping videos she had online. Her writing and tutorials had gained massive popularity over the past year on her personal blog, and it was obvious that the world needed a community devoted solely to the art of hair wrapping. After much thought, the idea of a website featuring head wrapping women from all over the world was agreed upon. “Wrapunzel ~ Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Hair Wrapping” began that night, and the rest is history!"

Just heard from the offspring, who has had a very stressful year and also has suspected she might have some mild autoimmune issue, she suddenly developed #alopecia areata this week in two spots on her head. She is distraught and having trouble finding a PCP after just moving. Anyone seen or had this before? #medicine

Dachshunds are ludicrous, even when of show quality training and lineage. Mine has neither. He likes to stage his own death on walks outside his operating temperature (between 20 and 21 degrees Celsius), and alopecia has denuded his underside. He eventually found the will to continue.

Heya adventurers! My name is Hadarai Liadon, a nonbinary elf rogue with Areata. I lost my hair as I grew older, which made me struggle with my identity and social interactions. But I found my confidence through my friend Gulaabee, a hairless squirrel. TikToktoplesstopicstv on TikTokas much as I support the #progress #leftists are making towards being #bodypositive, there is still a hard limit evident in which forms of #bodypositivity are considered #capitalism friendly--mostly things involving #fatPhobia, which IS important, I'm not denying that. however, there are many other body parts that don't get the same commercial-friendly normalization--because they're harder to sell to consumers, I guess. very rarely you might see an ad campaign featuring people with #vitiligo, #amputees and other #disabilities etc, but it's always done as a one-off PR stunt, not sustained awareness and destigmatizion of bodies that look like that. and I have NEVER, EVER seen an ad campaign to normalize #acne especially #adultAcne or #acneScars, unless it's to sell something that allegedly prevents or heals acne. trust me, some of us have tried all that, and it still doesn't work. rather than shame the millions of people who deal with these kinds of things, isn't it way past time to normalize them, too? (at least socially, by calling out #bodyshaming for more than just being #plusSize or #curvy - - capitalism will follow once they decide it's more profitable to pretend to support it, just as they're starting to do in fat-centric body positive campaigns.)
