Wir starten das Jahr mit ein paar Short Film Treasures von Regie-Größen, die schon längst mit Feature-Filmen bekannt sind. Sowohl aus dem Horror-Genre, aber auch etwas #Drama- und #Thriller-Material. Mit dabei sind Filme von #TaikaWaititi, #AlisonAnderson und dem Meister des #FolkHorror, #AriAster.

Jsem rád, že ještě pořád existují osobití režiséři, kteří si jedou svoje a nepodlehli trendům.
Ari Aster (Děsivé dědictví, Slunovrat) a jeho třetí celovečerák je zatím jeho nejméně přístupný film (tzv. pro okrajové publikum) a já, stejně jako u jeho předchozích dvou filmech, odcházel po projekci velmi spokojen.
Solidní mindfuck v lynchovském stylu, jen více "čitelné" než filmy od Davida Lynche, ale to rozhodně není špatně.
Joaquin Phoenix v hlavní roli je skvělej. Vedle Jokera se jedná o jeho další totální psycho roli.
Jediný zápor bych viděl jen v tom, že film postupně tak trochu ztrácí drive, protože první cca hodina je naprostej skvost.

For today's #livestream I think I will finally pull a Kurtis Conner and show a movie so we can watch it together, then afterwards I'll write a script briefly summarizing my thoughts and critique. Since my Tuesday livestreams are on Joystick, a sex site even though I don't do anything sexual because literally the only spaces I can have my heinous female nipples visible in any context also allow full porn, and they don't care about copyrighted movies since the VODs can't be saved and people have to use their real ID to prove they're 18+ to even sign up for the site (regardless of whether the stream they're watching is entirely SFW or not) then I was thinking of watching #BeauIsAfraid, the new #AriAster #horror film (who did #Midsommar and #Hereditary). If it's anything like his other work, I'm sure there'll be some gore off and on which I hate, but the overall stories are interesting enough that I still want to watch them. So, warning if you're sensitive to gore... You can always just listen to the stream, or put up a second window over the picture - in-picture so you only see my face

Ari Aster is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors. This movie is not for everyone, but it made me think, which counts for a lot.
