Truth be told, at @KronoMoonPhotos, what makes us happy is sharing, retooting & boosting everybody's personal #MoonShots, from their #bedroom #windows or their #backyard #gardens. Professional credentials are not required here, although an occasional #hashtag is nice: #MoonOverMastodon.

But there's a special love for our dedicated #deepspace #photogs, for their sharply etched #lunar #mountains & #craters, silent witnesses in the ethereal glow of #MotherEarth. #Astrophotography is a challenging, costly, and sometimes lonely pursuit, its #techies & #artisans gifting us with glimpses of the #wonders of the #cosmos. Here are a few fine practitioners, with our gratitude.

“HIGHLIGHTS:
• Earth may have had a ring during the middle Ordovician, from ca. 466 Ma.
• Breakup of an asteroid passing within Earth's Roche limit likely formed the ring.
• Among several features preserved is a near-equatorial band of impact craters.
• Shading of Earth by the ring may have triggered a global icehouse period…”

Something's happening around 66.57° N, 148.71° E near #UsunKiuel' / Усун-Кюёль, Sacha, #Russia...

Seems like a huge-ass #methane #blowout if not fires of the #Permafrost, as the area is dotted with #Sinkholes and #craters as well as absurdly high amounts of emissions.

And it's not like #Norilsk or other #industrial hotspots where a huge amounts of #particle #emissions are easily explained...

Anyone have contacts at #RosHydroMet or rather #NOAA & #esa to confirm this?

The area has suspiciously blurry satellite images on #GoogleMaps...
