#DogDayAfternoon

True story. I pulled into the parking lot where I was about to do some business at my bank in a small, upstate New York town, and there were these dogs waiting outside the bank in this vehicle. There was also a third dog in the backseat who ducked down below the window level when I made eye contact with him. Thinking of tipping off the police to this crew. Clearly, they're about to pull off a bank heist. #DogDayAfternoon #dogsofmastodon

Watched **Dog Day Afternoon (1975)** and what a truly solid and good film it is. The performances elevate this film as well as queer representation probably ahead of its time. I will remember that awkward phone call between an ex-partner and subtle smile near the end. I did want more but still definitely a classic.

(Also learned about the Attica incident for context.)

Dear Friends,

A rainy #DogDayAfternoon. When you gotta go ...

Speaking of #poop. Pick them up cuz it's a disease/parasites vector for other domesticates and our #WildLife friends.

Also (although there is controversy on this) some say rats, the kind we mostly dislike, will eat dog poop. So, another good reason.

Our beautiful dog here is staring after another dog to whom we just said goodbye to.

My Sister-in-law asked her sister to "look after Jezebel should something happen" to her.

Because the universe is a fucked-up place "something" happened and we lost my Sister-in-law back in October.

Here we are driving from California to Illinois with Jezebel.

Weirdest fucking cat I've ever seen. In fact, the only way I know she's a cat is because Karla knew that we are cat people and wouldn't have asked us otherwise.

It will take us awhile to get over the loss, and I'm not sure if Jezebel is helping or hindering. But having her around sure has shaken up our world, and not necessarily in a bad way. The other cats also think she's weird but have come to accept her and, I'm sure, are thankful she hasn't horned in on their litter boxes because HAVE YOU SEEN THE SIZE OF SOME OF THOSE PILES SHE'S LEFT BEHIND IN THE YARD?!!?
