I just watched Drive Away Dolls. I think the actors were fantastic, and there were quite a few fun moments, but somehow it felt like a lacklustre Big Lebowski, except about lesbians. It’s not a bad movie, but it doesn’t turn out as good as I hoped it would be. I caught #LoveLiesBleeding recently and it was okay but I am a little tired of unhealthy #queer relationships in film and that was... rather unhealthy. Deffo hot though.
So then I watched #DriveAwayDolls instead which was a bit manic but a lot cuter. I thought it would be darker than it was but it is quite wholesome!
I need more gay af films (et al) with a happy ending and positive relationships.

#DriveAwayDolls... It could have been better. Maybe it's not for me, a gay guy, as it's a #movie about lesbians on a road trip. But i can say the editing has failed this #film. There are good performances. And the script just might be whitty. But it all languishes on the vine when the editor put them together to weakly.
Some jokes or scenes dont hit like they should. Some jokes land in spite of it all (justice for Curlie). I wonder what this could have been with a better editor.
