#30DaysOfBiking Day 11:
Later today I will be assisting my wife set up for an art show in which she is participating. And then I had a COVID shot scheduled this morning, so I rode my #ebike to the pharmacy for the shot for 9 miles. Hopefully I will get some longer rides in over the weekend. I did ride past the lot that was purchased by the city for a planned sports and recreation complex. The good news is that a new trail will be built to reach it more directly.

#JournalEverything Just had a call from the #physio, they have some cancellations so my appointment has been brought forward from 1610 to 1500. Hopefully on the way to getting these creaky knees sorted out. They are better today of course than they were on Monday when I could only hobble around after a too-long walk around #Ironbridge on Sunday. I usually go into the office on Tuesdays - by #ebike and #train but I really wasn't up to it this week so I worked from home all two and a half days (I'm #PartTime) and lucky I can work #remotely.

#30DaysOfBiking Day 10:
Today is cool (45F, 7C) cloudy and damp feeling, but almost no wind. I rode my #bike to double appointments, coffee with the hockey guys, and a tech consult at the same coffee shop after. The challenge was road construction AND a water main break which led to a significant detour. Then after lunch I rode my #ebike to Menards to get some plastic tubing to repair our backyard water fountain. A total of 18 miles.

@mastobikes @mastobikes_de @fedibikes @fedibikes_de Hi, hat irgendwer die #Bosch #ebike flow App am laufen? Bin ich der einzige, der das nicht hin bekommt? Registrieren hat nach 10 Versuchen geklappt, anmelden, also App starten, gar nicht. Stürzt immer ab nach Login. Wenn man den Browser so unsicher wie möglich konfiguriert geht es fast, aber nicht ganz. Ist das eigentlich keine richtige App? Scheint mir wie ein Wrapper einer Website oder ist das nur beim einloggen? Warum macht man sowas? 🤨

The front brake was making interesting noises, so I thought I'd check the pads after the ride.
In hindsight, going down roads at 60 kph no longer feels as safe as it felt when I did it...

Mental note to check those pads more often...

But I recently inherited an #ebike from my dad, who just can't make use of it any more. It's been unused in a shed or garage for a couple of years.

So I thought, why not?

I was terrified I'd fall off – almost certain fractures for me. But I gave it a go today.

Timid and – frankly – wobbly at first, it took a while pottering around quiet local streets to gain some confidence.

But after a while, I felt ready to go up the path by the river.
