For 20 years, I’ve been loyal to the same barber shop and haven’t gotten my hair cut anywhere else. The shop has three or four barbers working there, but the owner remains a constant presence, along with a couple of long-time employees. Every barber does an excellent job with haircuts. Situated in an Army town, the shop is conveniently located on the road leading to the gate. Personally, I think feeling comfortable with a barber is important—I appreciate the familiarity. When asked how I want my hair, I enjoy being able to simply say, “the usual.” Interestingly, a couple of the barbers are originally from Vietnam, and they always finish up with a relaxing head massage.

I need to get a haircut, but since today is Wednesday, my barber is closed. Funny enough, I had the exact same thought last Wednesday—yet here I am. It takes a bit of effort to clean up, get in my car, and drive the 15 minutes to the barbershop. Haircuts used to be a necessity for me, but now they’re more of an option, something I only consider when my hair starts bothering me. Honestly, it’s too gray and too thin in places to fuss much about appearances. A short cut around the sides is practical, though, as it doesn’t interfere with my hearing aids. Anyway, long hair and bell-bottoms are mostly out of style.

What’s the lowest spoon way to give yeself a haircut & clean up after?

I was tempted to do it in the bath and hose the hair down the drain but I think that’s not good for pipes and will clog?

I was considering lying down a sheet and sitting/lying on it?

Or can I just do it outside?

I just can’t to help myself!
I got straight into the hairdresser & got the same person as last time so made sure to tell him I only wanted it tidied up & less than a cm off. He did good & while it is a wee bit more than a cm off - I knew that would happen .
Then off to get my supermarket supplies & I have my paleo mix to add to my bread. The starter has already risen enough to use so I can put everything together now.
I got home & decided it really wasn’t that hot yet so I’ve now mowed the lawns as well. Go me . The sprinkler is on while I cool off but I definitely need another shower . The garden looks so much better though & I might even get an extra swim in over the next couple of days now
