Ret
Playing with the IFR 2968 a bit more this evening. Something I've realised is that it can't transmit the MCCH downlink during a call, even if the traffic channel and control channel are on the same carrier (in different slots) like a "real" base station would.

This leads to some odd behaviour when you do something like pressing "hang up" while listening to an incoming group call. The MS goes into No Service after a few seconds, and this confused me before. It actually makes sense though, because the IFR 2968 has stopped transmitting the MCCH in slot 1, continuing to transmit the TCH for the call instead (even though you've stopped listening). The MS thinks the control channel has gone away as a result.

#tetra #hamtetra #hamradio
