A few hours ago, completely randomly, I remembered a moment from my life about 20 years ago. Overcome with a kind of panic, I made a phone call. It was humiliating to make, but even more humiliating to recall. So humiliating that my mind rejects it. I struggled to remember the details and, even though I remember everything, my brain tried to escape.
There were no side effects or problems for anyone, of course. But I still wonder why I put myself in a position to make that call.
