Very tall plum tree, ripening plums, shaking and chattering with small birds.

Including quite a lot of #hummingbirds. What would they be eating? Insects that are going after the plum juice? Could hummingbirds be drinking fruit juice itself?

A Hummingbird built a nest on our back porch.
There are two chicks in the nest btw

Happy to see at least two ruby-throated #hummingbirds visiting the backyard regularly over the past week, in previous summers we’ve only occasionally seen one around as a summer resident. Given the dark spots on the throat I think this one may be a juvenile male.
