Beaches all over the world are not made up only of sand and stone, but also plastic. Slowly our waste streams have become visible: how they are influencing our environment and our very bodies, constantly and quietly, changing the composition of the world around us just a little at a time, until they are in our very bloodstream. We are intertwined with them, our civilization inescapably connected to our waste.<br>
