Fantastic Four: First Steps felt like a Marvel phase 1 or 2 movie. That's a good thing in my book. Perhaps if we had more movies like this people wouldnt have been so critical of the last few years of the MCU.

I will echo what people have been saying - it requires no home work on recent MCU events, so if you've popped out on it the last few years it's an easy one to jump back in with!

I’m a huge admirer of comic artist Larry Marder, and love this #FantasticFour-themed cover by him.

It was FF-co-creator #JackKirby who – through his art – introduced Marder to Native American designs, especially #Hopi kachinas.

Very elegant how this abstract drawing captures the individual power sets and at the same time channels the team’s mythical, elemental aspects (water, fire, earth and air).

Advance screening we saw of Fantastic Four tonight: I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. #FantasticFour

I remembered, during this movie set in the early 60’s, that I was 12 first reading these comics. They were plenty exciting for the time. Short on the science but then the general public really didn’t know that much about science or space and less about technology. Science fiction was largely unknown.

My son John found it entertaining but he likely would not have paid to see it. He won the tickets from #KUPD The theatre was full: filled with young boys, teens, and the nerdiest nerds of all ages you can imagine.

We agree that I prolly related more because a lot that was clunky is because fashion/cars/tech and people were clunky then.

Reminded me why my brother and I were DC fans not Marvel at that time. The characters were far more relatable and not as pretentious or goody-goodie.

We both think this is one that was far better in IMAX and unlikely to come across well in a regular theatre. Will be lame if you wait to watch on a TV. I’m not seeing a huge moneymaking blockbuster hit out of this run. Sorry Disney and MCU. I give it 7/10, my son likely 6/10 or 5/10. #MCU

Disappointed I didn't see Thunderbolts* in the theater. Finally got around to streaming it tonight and it is really up there with some of the best #MCU entertainment in the last several years.

Did they stop doing Assembled on Disney+? Would love to see the making of this one.

Preparing for the new Fantastic Four movie coming out this week by watching all of the previous movies.

Also by coincidence I recently rewatched Arrested Development so that's another Fantastic Four adaptation covered (or two more, technically?)
