These lizard bestial humans have a tough time getting admitted into a human settlement, and unless arriving with known humans, cyborgs or mutant humans, will be turned away at gunpoint. Even when admitted entry, often with a bribe of 30+3d6sp slipped to the guards, the monitor lizard must remain confined to the unit’s quarters and will not be allowed into any saloon, store or eatery.

Just saw a shadow move towards our fig tree grove from a distance, went closer to investigate and eventually found this specimen high up in the branches! 🦎 No wonder the birds were sounding the alarm! 🚨 This beautiful Goanna could easily empty their nests 🪺🔜🪹 check out how they wrap their long tail around the tree for balance; from head to tail I'd guess this one to be approximately 1.8m long. Beauty! 🤠 (Where is a DSLR with a decent zoom lens when I need it... 🙈)

This painting was inspired by a whimsical little comic/picture book idea that crossed my mind. What would it be like to walk a wild and non-mammalian animal as if it were the most normal thing in the world? What sort of respect and care do we owe to wild creatures that we share the earth with but whom we do not tame as pets? The lizard looks happy and content at this point, or at least docile, and so does the owner, but at some point they both know that they will have to part, that the natural order of things will have to be restored. Let the wild things be wild - wild, and free.

The lizard is a Malayan water monitor.
