Which are the best current practices in tagging and naming #mp3 files?

I'm willing to release ~100 of my own recordings and I'd rather tag them well.

I'm concerned about the file names, mostly. Should I use spaces or replace them with _? Should I use accented chars or should I limit myself to ASCII? Mixed case or only lower case? Should the name of the file include the name of the album?

Aujourd’hui je prends le train. C’est donc le moment idéal de tester mon petit lecteur mp3 (qui ne fait que ça). C’est aussi le moyen de redécouvrir les sagas mp3 que j’écoutais en boucle comme adoprixtoxis ou encore les aventuriers du survivaure. Jusqu’ici je me marre fort (on me regarde bizarrement dans le train ). En vrai ce petit lecteur est vraiment cool et il tient dans la main ! I'm looking for #recommendations for #mp3 player apps for android, specifically for music.

I have multiple apps for playing audio, but they either won't play local files or it would be clunky to do so. Search engines give me sponsored listicles written by someone who hasn't even tried the app ("it has good reviews in the app store."). I'm not sure how we got to the worst timeline.
