Some napkin math. Gencon 2024 had an attendance of 71,000. Let's assume that by the end, 2.5% of the people who attended got COVID, or 1775 people. Assuming the infection fatality risk for COVID-19 is, conservatively, about 0.5%, that works out to 8.875 deaths. So holding GenCon might have resulted in about eight deaths from COVID. #COVID #NotOver
