@nora I resonate a lot with these thoughts. You might be interested in a pain therapy or somatic therapy program. For example, I listened to some interviews with Rachel Zoffness about the book she wrote to help people work with their therapists on this

There's also a bunch of resources here zoffness.com//resources

www.zoffness.comRachel Zoffness Pain Science AuthorDr. Zoffness had authored two workbooks that offer an effective biopsychosocial approach to treating pain and other scientifically-supported interventions rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and neuroscience.

One thing that really annoys me in almost every code editor is that you can't fully select a quoted word using the Shift+Option+Arrow hotkey. Every time, it also selects the punctuation character that follows the word.

As a result, you have to copy it as is and remove the extra character after pasting. Because of the extra bracket or similar punctuation, your editor highlights the code in red with a lot of errors until it's removed.

I've decided to start to rotate which of my characters is the "face" of my #FFXIV event guides. So, for Hatching-tide I made it my Au'ra.

I'm about to head back into this game. After doing the dishes and clearing space in the kitchen, then getting error logs to one of my cloud storage providers, my #Fibromyalgia #pain has shot WAY up.

Going to run the event on a different character I think. It's engaging enough but doesn't require brain power, which I need right now.

I'm going to tell you a shocking tale in the hope of gaining some sympathy.
Earlier today I had me a run.
Nothing too strenuous but enough to tire out this timeworn chap.
Had a shower, a bite to eat, a nosey at the news.
Then I went upstairs.
Just 2 minutes quiet sit down on the bed.
Started to nod off . . . .
AAAAAARRGH!!!!
Major muscle cramp, left calf.
Bloody agony. Flailing around I was for nearly 3 minutes.
It's still fluttering now - over an hour later.

Am I just getting old?

😔

Crippling pain hasn't slowed down Amber as she prepares to run 500km
By Bill Ormonde

Suffering severe pain from endometriosis, there are days when Amber Bryant can barely get out of bed. Yet she's about to run 500 kilometres "back home" to Broken Hill to raise money and awareness about the disease.

ABC News · Endometriosis awareness the aim of woman's 500km Adelaide-to-Broken Hill runBy Bill Ormonde

Hi All, I don't normally leave it this late to get back on the socials after a Sunday. But my pain levels are terrible.

One of the main reason is that the pharmacy has...three times failed to get the right slow-release medication to us.

I take set doses of pain and muscle-relaxing meds through the day. But I also have slow release ones that work between the doses (which are not effective after 2½-3hrs).

The slow-release one is strong so, currently I'm struggling to ignore the #fibro #pain.

For people with migraine, exercise is a 'double-edged sword'
By Anthea Beveridge

For many people who live with migraine, exercise has been reported as a trigger for attacks. But studies also show that exercise can be prescribed as a non-medical treatment that could decrease their frequency, intensity and attack duration.

“We’ve been conditioned by society that pain is weakness. That being sick is something you can overcome by simply trying harder.”

You can’t “try harder” your way out of disability. It’s not a weakness or a moral failing.

It is one of the only minority groups you can join at any time.

Ableism forces us to hide our suffering. To smile through the pain and deliver a convincing “I’m fine”

My latest looks at what would happen if we stopped hiding, as well as ways you can support the disabled person in your life.

" In the works since 2004, the project investigates a sequence of high-profile criminal prosecutions of medical professionals for healthcare fraud and illegal prescribing, raising the question of why the U.S. Department of Justice and the Drug Enforcement Administration stood on their heads to convict these individuals while leaving more dubious actors untouched."

"Recovering from intercostal muscle strain requires time, patience, and proper care."

An article states it can take 5 to 6 weeks to recover. At just over 2 weeks of constant pain I am 'over it'.

I know I'm fortunate that I don't have a chronic condition, but 'knowing' it and having an experience that makes you 'feel' it are two separate things.

Resting isn't in my nature, and as a carer it's virtually impossible. The coming weeks will be 'interesting'.
