OrbitalMartian<p>I'm getting myself setup with a nice i3 rice. I'm working on the bar at the minute, does anyone know how to get all workspaces to show (no matter whether it's got something in or not) in <a href="https://alpha.polymaths.social/tags/polybar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Polybar</span></a> . It's using the <code>xworkspaces</code> module (code below).</p><pre><code>[module/xworkspaces] type = internal/xworkspaces label-active = %name% label-active-background = ${colors.background-alt} label-active-underline= ${colors.primary} label-active-padding = 1 label-occupied = %name% label-occupied-padding = 1 label-urgent = %name% label-urgent-background = ${colors.alert} label-urgent-padding = 1 label-empty = %name% label-empty-foreground = ${colors.disabled} label-empty-padding = 1 </code></pre><p><a href="https://alpha.polymaths.social/tags/askfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://alpha.polymaths.social/tags/pleaseboost" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PleaseBoost</span></a></p>

Demi :potion_trans: :programmer:<p>Why is this so cursed? found a hacky workaround to eww not having a tray... by putting a polybar tray over top of it... which after a few hours of tinkering i got working... on only one workspace... and flameshot isnt showing up in the tray for some reason.. Eww is gorgeous, but my god this has been a mess.. granted, me being still new to coding/scripting isnt helping, but...<br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/hyprland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hyprland</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/eww" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>eww</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/polybar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>polybar</span></a></p>

I wouldn't recommend using it unless you want to learn <a href="https://mastodon.zbecker.cc/tags/haskell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>haskell</span></a>. I have used <a href="https://mastodon.zbecker.cc/tags/awesomeWM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>awesomeWM</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.zbecker.cc/tags/qtile" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>qtile</span></a> as well, but I am not as well versed in them.</p><p>Haskell was quite fun to learn as its a purely functional language with no object oriented ability. </p><p>The reason why I use xmonad is primarily because there are so many libraries for it. I <a href="https://mastodon.zbecker.cc/tags/polybar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>polybar</span></a> rather than <a href="https://mastodon.zbecker.cc/tags/xmobar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>xmobar</span></a>.</p>

agent brickman 47Polybar tip of the day:<br>If you only want to see occupied workspaces on polybar, than in your config search for<br><br>"label-empty =" and make sure there is nothing after =<br><br>Restart polybar, and you will see the change. This should work with any wm that polybar supports.<br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/linux" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#linux</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/linuxtips" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#linuxtips</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/polybar" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#polybar</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://blob.cat/tag/windowmanager" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#WindowManager</a>
Sam de Leve<p>Up late getting my new <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> install up and running—okay okay, I’m playing with my <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/polybar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>polybar</span></a> config while <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/Steam" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Steam</span></a> does Steam things 😋</p><p>Gonna put <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/EndeavorOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EndeavorOS</span></a> through its gaming and content creation paces before I decide whether to stick with it or swap to one of the suggestions I got 🐧 Some pretty intriguing distros out there!</p>
