Picek and I were gaming buddies. That was our glue that held us. More than anything else we played Legend of the Five Rings CCG. We played each other so much we would casually call each other by our chose clan names – Phoenix and Crane. At one point I started playing Scorpion decks and running a Scorpion fan site, but he still called me Crane.

I got the call while Buffy was in the desert, First Slayer walking around her in Restless. Christophe Beck’s music still plays in my mind when I think of it. He was caught in an avalanche and didn’t make it.

A Game or Gamer you miss.

Me. I miss the gamer I used to be. I miss the love for RPGs I once had. The passion that let me create entire game worlds, write thousands of words a day, truly develop characters and adventures.

Now? I numbly scroll through RPG social media. I read the right blogs. I buy each month's hotness. I dutifully show up once a week for our Discord game, where I drink and joke until it's over.

But I don't create. I don't really care anymore.

-31- Game or gamer that you miss.

TL;DR: The various gamers (especially in the scene) who've passed away.

However, that was a bit of a downer to end this year's on so I also call out the Conspiracy of Shadows which I had a lot of fun with running at conventions.

Mhmmm... ca compte l'appli du site For The Drama ?

This one turned out to be very easy. I like my tabletop gaming as analogue as possible. Not that I am a technophobe, quite to the contrary, but I need a break from screens and all the digitalia in my daily life. And that break is my tabletop experience.

Some years ago I bought Ultimate Ears Wonderboom 2, a portable Bluetooth speaker. It turned out to be a great investment, and I love using it to play music or background sounds during sessions. It is in my setup, so I don’t need to connect to other people’s systems – if there are any. And I can easily hide it away. Once i played sounds from my backpack, and they were good enough.
