Steven Jarvis<p>Been a few days, but I finished S.A. Cosby&#39;s new novel, All the Sinners Bleed. It&#39;s. So. Good. Y&#39;all. Probably his best one yet, but they&#39;re all good. If you dig crime fiction set in the South (David Joy, etc.), you&#39;ll love this. Thank you, sir, for another great read! <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/ruralnoir" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ruralnoir</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/crimefiction" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>crimefiction</span></a></p>
kc<p>My review of Stone Town by Margaret Hickey is live now: </p><p><a href="https://www.austcrimefiction.org/review/stone-town-margaret-hickey" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">austcrimefiction.org/review/st</span><span class="invisible">one-town-margaret-hickey</span></a></p><p>I've always been a huge admirer of Garry Disher's rural noir novels (in particular) and to my eye, Margaret Hickey's work has so many of the same elements as his. Innate understanding of the place, landscape and people, sympathy, clear-eyed affection and a realistic viewpoint - good and bad. Now I'm going to be eagerly scanning the "upcoming" lists for works by both authors.</p><p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://a.gup.pe/u/bookstodon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>bookstodon</span></a></span> </p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/CrimeFiction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CrimeFiction</span></a> <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/Review" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Review</span></a> <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/Australia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Australia</span></a> <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/RuralNoir" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RuralNoir</span></a> <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <br><a href="https://aus.social/tags/bookstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bookstodon</span></a></p>
