Satyricon was a lot. I think their whole Dan club is behind me. Also, fan club. Ugh.

Now, #Fellini , it's time to get weird.
#BlackMetalMonday is upon is again, hosted by @HailsandAles. I’m feeling oldschool today, so I will hightlight a song that is 25 years old and from band that is part of the furious Second Wave out#Norway. That’s right, it’s time to go on a Supersonic Journey with #Satyricon.

From the masterful record Rebel Extravaganza this song goes from frantic to almost early post-black. And I’m there for all of it!
hello #MittwochMetalMix
here's a piece from #satyricon that sounds like a QOTSA song with bonham on drums. haakon kornstad on operatic vocals. loving it.

When you look into the #eyes of an LGBT person, you see #Antinous. It's #Antinoos who looks out of their eyes and your eyes and everyone's eyes. He is the beholder and the beheld. He is the center. It's #Homotheosis: https://antinousstars.blogspot.com/2023/09/look-into-eyes-of-gay-person-and-you.html #MartinPotter #Fellini #Satyricon
@len_klapdor At the age of 12 or so, I was down with some kind of flu and spent the week at my dad's house - he had Z Channel - early cable service. I mostly recall watching #Fellini #Satyricon, sure that its weirdness was due to my fever. Fast-forward about 15 years, rented it to watch with friends and realised it wasn't the fever at all. It's just that freaking weird.
ancient edition for late-night #ThrowBackThursday
sad: #TheEpicOfGilgamesh by the sumerians (lament for enkidu...)
hopeful: #ChaereasAndCallirhoe by #Chariton of aphrodisias (happy ending!!!)
nostalgic: #PopolVuh by the k'iche' (not of my culture, but neither is anything else on this list - my dennis tedlock copy specifically is nostalgic because of the circumstances surrounding how i got it. family, complicated stuff, memories etc.)
fearful or scared: inanna's descent to the netherworld, by the sumerians again (they hung WHAT on a hook?)
bonus: #Satyricon by #TitusPetronius...it's almost entirely horrible and i did dislike most of it, but it contains a hilarious parody of the roman equivalent of the nouveau riche, and a strangely relatable bit where the protagonist is ineffectually enraged and gets his sword taken away. mood, buddy
