Hardware (1990), a sci-fi-action-horror movie starts with a guy finding an old robot head. This is a grungy decaying post-apocalyptic cyberpunk world with a very cool aesthetic. Plenty of mayhem. Some steamy coupling. Hugely entertaining.

Event Horizon (1997) starts as a blatant Alien ripoff then becomes a haunted spaceship movie. A missing spaceship is found but where has it been? I like the way that everything is left ambiguous. Big-budget popcorn movie but fine entertainment.

Charles Band's Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn is a 1983 post-apocalyptic scifi movie with a bit of a western vibe and a Mad Max vibe. There's also crazy mystical stuff, dimension-jumping and a great villain. Cheesy fun.

Vampire Hunter D (1985), groundbreaking sci-fi/Wild West/vampire anime that can't quite match the visual splendour of the 2000 sequel but offers brilliant concepts, vampiric eroticism, great world-building and lots of mayhem. Superb stuff.

Armitage III: Poly-Matrix (1996), an excellent underrated cyberpunk anime about a female android cop, which her human partner has problems with. This one deals a lot with the Uncanny Valley thing. Lots of mayhem, and some Lovecraft references.

Antonio Margheriti's Yor: The Hunter from the Future (1983). About a prehistoric hunter but that's not really what's going on. Looks terrific. Fast-moving, action-packed. Feisty sexy women. Has monsters and villains and crazy twists. Terrific.

Paul Verhoeven’s RoboCop (1987), a dystopian cyberpunk scifi thriller with some interesting emotional nuance and some black comedy. And done with old school special effects. A dystopian future that now seems disturbingly prescient. Great movie.

The audio leaves a little to be desired, being only a 2.0 Master, but the visual presentation is absolutely gorgeous! I’ve only ever seen/owned a DVD copy in the past and this #4KUHD is a major step up from that!

I saw my first cybertruck in the wild while walking up 13th today. I was bummed I didn't have my camera ready, and I wondered if I'd see it again. Less than 10 minutes later, I laughed when I saw it while walking down 17th. I felt like I stumbled upon a low-budget 70s sci-fi movie set... that 100k thing is not for me... cyberNOPE!
