But this time, this really is the final issue of CVG that I have at the moment.
Although I hope that I'm able to get more in the future...

🕶️ A view of its UI during a 4-player online game (of Magic: The Gathering) I attended as a spectator. The main part of the UI is divided into 4, showing for each player the cards placed on the mat and its parameters. On the right-hand side of the UI, several zones (which can be detached from the UI), including Card Info (the spectator can select a card on the mat with a mouse hover to read it better), Player List (selecting a player also opens a menu with actions on that player, such as chat, add to friends list, view games, etc.), Messages (from the UI specifying player actions). At the top of the UI, tabs allow you to build a Deck by selecting cards online, view Servers by game type, view Replays, attend (and participate in?) several games simultaneously.

📚️ Cockatrice is a libre, multi-platform virtual tabletop card game (on a client/server model) whose (server-based) design prevents users from manipulating the game to gain an unfair advantage. Features include Deck design (cards downloaded from the interface), a well-designed lobby client allowing different types of game (Magic: The Gathering, Poker, Pokemon, YuGiOh, Hearthstone) with or without spectators, tabbed navigation between multiple games, chat, replay of games, offline solo play, themes, sound effects (deactivatable). Excellent!

📚️ Freeciv is a libre, multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (local / online, with or without IAs), turn-based strategy (4X) & empire building game offering different types of gameplay (it is modular, the rules are modifiable) including that of Civilization I & II: the game starts in prehistory, the objective is the supremacy over the other protagonists, leading its civilization from the Stone Age to that of the Space Age, or to be the first to lead its settlers on the Alpha Centauri planet. An HTML version called Freeciv-web (see the entry on our site) allows the game via the browser without prior registration.

🕶️ The game screen is very small (corresponding to the specifications of the NES, whose display is 256×240 pixels). A bird's-eye view of a Zelda-style game, where Link (the protagonist) is walking along a paved road, approaching a house in the middle of the woods. A mini-map at top left suggests a very large map.

📚️ ZQuest Classic is a libre, multi-platform, mature action-RPG engine, that comes with a clone of the NES version of The Legend of Zelda (1986, Nintendo). It lets you play numerous games (700 quests as of June 2023, mostly Zelda-like) designed by the community, and easily develop them thanks to its comprehensive, intuitive editor, which requires no programming (apart from the optional scripting language for extended functions), and also delivers data sets (traditional/improved). The project has brought together a community that has developed significant content, and its development is sustained.
