The sidebar browser for presets and samples has been merged into the develop branch. Both now have a file browser that supports browsing history, includes a breadcrumb bar, allows bookmarking paths, and saves the current path into the config file. This way, the user will be able to customize the preset and audio sample browsing for quick access. However, the factory preset will remain separate (although the user can also bookmark the factory paths in the sidebar preset browser as well). #synths

A weakness of the SFZ sampler format is that for normal humans, it is difficult to write the code required to do more than basic key mapping. Most SFZ files don’t include midi CC & modulation capabilities, because these are defined in the code

Solution: Use a synth or sampler plugin that doesn’t rely on SFZ for these things:

* TX16Wx
* TAL-Sampler
* Altitude
* Bliss
* Serum 2
* Falcon
* ….etc

Anybody have recommendations for interesting #musician-oriented apps on #android? Was away from my various tinkering tools tonight and so far played with Semitone (#fdroid), Koala Sampler (paid) and I've got #lsdj running in lemuroid.

Just playing around and making fun noises, prefer #opensource or free tools, but if it's something interesting I'm not above paid apps (as long as there's no subscription).

I have a stylus for my phone too, so can press many tiny buttons on the screen.

In the 90s I loved that first Rentals record as I've mentioned- and the Rentals have like, this strange alternate version of it on Bandcamp (with a live version of Friends of P? And missing The Love I'm Searching For?), which is weird, but the version they have there has this song that was on the Friends of P single that I had back in the 90s-- it's called 'So Soon', and it's rad as fuck. The Moog hook, the simplicity. Man, those Rentals.

Found out last night as well as recording 6-12 tracks, you can also load samples into tracks and have them play (and presumably loop) alongside live tracks, so the mixer itself ought to function as a sort of vibe machine for soundscapes. I'm intrigued 🤔🤔 hopefully we'll see at the weekend 😎 #oops #synths #musicproduction
