David Wilkins
A few days back, I posted some photos of a 1980s Rolls Royce Silver Spirit that had been converted into an up-market pick-up. This is what the Silver Spirit looks like in standard unmodified form. Snapped by my brother in Doha in Qatar last year.

#davidsdailycar #RollsRoyce #WeirdCarMastodon

Frank
New master cylinder ordered. He has 'some' brakes at present, will do to get him on and off the trailer next week.

Wheels after a light coat. Still need a bit more sanding of gravel rash. And of course we're out of paint. Bet the paint shop's not open until Monday. 🤦‍♂️

#WeirdCarMastodon

Frank
Oh good, Roger's brake master cylinder is all pitted and the replacement one is not the right one. Turns out there's a few different ones for the pickup, dammit. Lewis
If I run hard line all the way to the caliper, then to remove the caliper I either have to

a) disconnect the hard line at the caliper, and I'll have to bleed the brakes after reassembling, which is effort

b) remove ALL the hard line from the axle, which is also effort, or

c) flex the hard line and just hope it bends nicely and doesn't fold and also doesn't break when I bend it back.

So, my head says I'm adding a tiny bit of complexity now to save time later. WDYT, #WeirdCarMastodon?

Lewis
If anyone needs custom braided brake hoses in the UK, use HEL Performance. I ordered these yesterday at 12:40pm and got them in the post at 11:40am today. Magic.

These will form the last section to the calipers on my axle. If that seems strange to you that I'd do this on a live axle, that's because it is. But the idea is that if I ever need to remove the caliper (e.g. to remove the disc) it's going to be much easier to just unbolt the caliper and swing it out the way.

#WeirdCarMastodon

It’s a Ford of some kind.

Excuse the blurry pic, I took this hastily from my drivers seat while waiting at a red light.

UPDATE: it’s a Ford Econoline pickup truck from around 1960.
