Often views on something appears best from a distance. We hiked up a mountain to see the Merapi that way. And I have to admit, it was really worth it.

Gunung Kidul area has a big mountain (gunung), but not very high.
In the south the coast has lots of rock and sand #beaches - something for everyone.
The first three are from Kasap beach and the last is from Midodaren beach, which is a not yet discovered great #surfer paradise in #WonderfulIndonesia.
I think, they look good as #wallart and on spiral #notebooks.

Sunrise over the magnificent volcanoes of the Tengger mountains in East Java. Bromo on the left is the most active out of the five volcanoes in the sand filled caldera, while the tallest mountain in Java, Semeru in the distance, has started erupting again in December 2022, shortly before I visited.
