I'm finally releasing the adventure that I've sat on since September. This project page on my website has links to both Itchio and DriveThru where you can get the adventure for free! The adventure was written for Worlds Without Number, but can be converted to other OSR systems.

Delve into a forest at the edge of destruction, where a parasite controls the only entity that could prevent it.

Alright, the text only version of my WWN adventure, Pretender to the Flame, has been sent to friends to read over to make sure I'm not missing forests for trees, then I do the full layout and figure out what art I need.

Hopefully they dont spot anything too egregious.

Soon it'll be done. Maybe.

For the new year, I launched a new TTRPG blog, Chi Plays Games.

My first point of order: posting my conversion of BARROW OF THE ELF KING for the WORLDS WITHOUT NUMBER system. I hope it'll be of use to someone else!

@slyflourish fortunately, #dnd is bigger than its current rules iteration and Hasbro‘s lifestyle brand and wanna be digital enclosure: dnd is ours. We can rip it apart, reassemble dnd‘s building blocks, throw money to independent and 3rd party creators instead of buying more #corpodnd products 🙂 I personally like to reclaim the name of the dragon game, when referring to dragongames in general: So let’s play dnd, today, maybe the cool #Shadowdark, #FTD, #WwN, #OSE etc variant?

My #DnD #OSR prep books. The newest addition is #MCDM’s Flee, Mortals! I’m really looking forward to this. Between Skerples’ Monster Overhaul and Flee Mortals, I’m pretty set for foes!

Other books come and go but this is my core inspiration set… what are your core go-to D&D prep inspiration books?

Ooh, the kickstarter for the #WWN offset-print re-run has started kickstarter.com/projects/sinen

This will take me up to three fancy hard copies of Without Numbers games - Stars, Cities, and now Worlds.

It also includes a stretch goal of a CC0 SRD at $50K, though KC always seems a little baffled by requests for this as he explicitly says his systems are open for re-use. Still, "it will let other creators feel secure about using the material for their own commercial products".

I wrote a grand total of 300 words in today. (tagging so people can mute)

I'm slowly realizing that everything I've written so far is entirely system agnostic. I've not touched the actual mechanical bits of any of the antagonists or hazards mentioned yet.

I also realized I'm going to have to go back to older sections and add description to make everything match, which is unfortunate. I guess this is what first drafts are for.

Of course there are and out or coming out soon. But with ’s ’s latest scandal, I think people might be interested in adjacent systems or different systems altogether. Here are a few:

finished a homebrew class for today! the Champion class is an alternative to the default warrior with more of a focus on flashy maneuvers than raw numerical strength, that i made for use in my own games. threw it up on my itch page for anyone else who wants to use it!

I don't think its the best cover I've ever done, but it'll do.

Pretender to the Flame is a sandbox adventure kit written with WWN in mind (though other fantasy system would likely work as well).

I'm still writing the rough draft, and this is perhaps a bit out of order, but I'm a hobbyist and making a cover is what interested me today.
