Also, happy to report that I'm a "Centurion" now: logged 100-mile virtual run on home #treadmill with #Zwift (out of 700+ miles I've run so far in 2025)!
Watching college basketball made today’s 2.5 hour trainer ride on #zwift go by a lot faster. It was the first time I’d ever completed the Ventoux climb, and it is no joke.
I've been using Zwift for quite a few years, but this week decided to try some of the interval trainer rides. They're very enjoyable and I like how they regulate the resistance of the turbo trainer to make sure you are doing a certain power... but I'm a bit confused about how to handle the transitions.
In this one there was a drop from 210 watts to a rest period of 100 watts and it's shouting at me to pedal slower, but I'm basically just free wheeling because the turbo has turned the resistance down to zero. Then Zwift seemed to get confused and think I had stopped entirely.
I'm probably just doing something wrong but I don't really know what.
Also I am finding these a bit too easy. I would rather the higher efforts be 300+ watts, since they're only short. Does that increase the more you use them?
25 mph winds, had to hide inside and ride #Zwift today!
It's been a while since I achieved a major milestone with #Zwift, so it feels pretty good to share that I just hit a 52 week streak!
Zwift refuses to change resistance of my smart trainer. So I used a workaround to get virtual ride kilometers while doing workouts.
My bike computer can adjust the resistance of said trainer, while doing a workout.
Re-creating the Zwift workout for my bike computer. Connect Zwift only to the power sensor of the trainer via bluetooth and connect my bike computer via Ant+ to the dynamic resistance thingie.
Then I do my best to start both workouts at the same time.
Profit!
As a show of confidence that it will stick (or a stick to keep me going if it doesn’t) I’ve just started an annual #Zwift subscription. After the free trial, my first month was covered by a coupon code someone very kindly gave me and that’s been enough to so far see me ride for just over 16 hours and cover 391 km.
Kickr bike trying to fall apart. Pin holding lever in place worked it's way out. Simple fix, but glad I saw it before it fell out and hid under something on the garage floor!
Got #Zwift Play controllers. Eliminates need to use mouse and enables steering. Couldn't turn down the offer from Zwift - after level 85 they will send them to you for the cost of shipping ($7.95)
Hey #Zwift riders
I started out on a 2016 KICKR V2
I upgraded to a Kickr Bike when they hit the market and saw a 30-40 watt drop in my FTP immediately.
Now I find myself still chasing Zwift PRs from years ago.
Have you experienced this mild annoyance? Back in the day the feedback was that there was no detectable difference in power between the two platforms but I have the data.
I'm a classic doodler - ride 8-10 hours per week consistently but don't seem to improve much.
Last minute decision to jump in for my first zwift race of the year. I managed to stay in the front group (of 274) the whole way and even popped out into 1st for a few seconds to take a screenshot. ":^)
On the final sprint I triggered a power up, shifted to higher gear and stood up to give it my all … almost falling off the bike! The quick release had loosened and bike started coming off trainer, then popped back on. Still had a good finish for me.

The good: my shoulder is healed enough after my fall in January that I can ride the trainer in the basement.
The bad: I'm not cleared to ride a real bike outside.
The ugly: it's freakin' GORGEOUS out there and I really want to hop on any one of my bikes on this lovely #friday afternoon... but I can't.
#Zwift it is, I guess.
Rain and strong wind outside, so this #LongRunSunday I ran my first virtual #halfMarathon with #Zwift — longest run on a dreadmill! Easy run with avg HR 135bpm.
I need some decent padded shorts but I’m very pleased that a couple of weeks into my #Zwift fitness journey I managed a whisker over 30 km in 90 minutes today. A couple of weeks ago I was really taking no exercise at all so this has surprised me a lot.
