@neverless Welcome!
@neverless hello there!
@neverless Welcome to Dice Camp. What are you currently playing?
@rollspelosofen Warhammer Fantasy #wfrp4e exclusively. 1st time gm, currently through sessions 0 and 1, session 2 coming up next week.
Add to that 2 sessions of #dsa (the dark eye) as a player sometime around 1999 and you have the full scope of my vast actual #ttrpg experience :).
@neverless Nice. Session 0, is that when you gathered theplayers and created characters?
@rollspelosofen
Did one pre-session to test tech and servers, discuss expectations and schedule, and for an overview of the Old World setting and broad wfrp4e rules overview.
We then had a session 0 where we did character generation together. After that we took 3 weeks for everyone to come up with char background and, once the characters had some life in them for me to come up with a prologue to narrate how they all ended up in the starting scene in session 1.
@neverless Sounds nice. I really like the idea of a session 0, where you can talk through about things like expectations and conduct and such things. Before I used to take a lot of those things for granted but if all involves are not aligned the game sessions can be quite frustrating.
@rollspelosofen Out of 4 players, 1 is my brother and 2 are close friends of mine. With 2 of them and their partners my wife and I have semi-regular boardgame sessions. One's an avid larper, one's an extremely efficient strategist and power-gamer in any board or card game. While it feels weird to 'officially' discuss expectations and boundaries if you know each other well it absolutely makes sense as a pre-session (session -1 ;) ?) before even starting a session 0 where you roll chars.
