I think it was Finland that did that, gave houses to all the homeless, ended it completely, and it paid for itself by saving all the resources previously used on homelessness
@jherazob @pawsplay every single no questions housing program that im aware of, let alone every "preemptive and preventive" social program ever tried - ubi, free jealth care, substance supports, counselling... just a warm roof- pays for itself at minimum, sometimes multiple times over from alleviating strain on emergency services.
It turns out, human compassion does pay.
