The Hasbro OGL fiasco. The fragmentation of social media. The onslaught of AI slop. The ever-evolving threat of tariffs. Attempted rollbacks of safety nets.
It's a minor miracle any small-time creators are left in this industry. Send best wishes to a #ttrpg creator today because times are tough.
@AdamMakesTTRPG it doesn't take a stable genius to see hard times ahead for a lot of people. I'll be wishing the best for all.
@AdamMakesTTRPG There will always be room for small-time creators in the #ttrpg industry as long as they don't actually expect to make a living from this.

Hey, $100 in 1975 is almost $600 in 2025 money!
A few hundreds of dollars back then would certainly be enough to live on, as long as you lived in your parent's basement!
@juergen_hubert I mean, therein lies the problem. If there's no viable path for small-time creator to move to something bigger, then we're always beholden to indifferent corporate shareholders to determine the hobby's norms and direction.
@AdamMakesTTRPG It's small time businesses that will be hit hard.
Even smaller are the hobbyists, who always have been the backbone of RPG development and innovation. They remain unaffected.
