Other than antisemitism, the real reason Republicans are convinced that *everything* "liberals"* do is funded by an oligarch is because that is *all* Republicans are: a group of discontented people tenuously united by the machinations of oligarchs.
Even their "grassroots" have their opinions meticulously shaped by the folks with the money.
*liberals being a very open term that includes everyone from center-right Democrats to actual communists.
