If there's a topic I want to see talked about more in the news (like the #Paypal / #Honey scam), I search keywords on Google frequently and click on every article I can find mentioning it.
I guess I'm hoping that if a lot of us do that, sites will get the idea that posting articles about a given topic will bring them lots of traffic.
I guess my theory is that if sites are driven primarily by metrics and traffic, we may actually have some power over what news they report.
Presumably I suppose I should click on the ad links on those articles, though that gives me the icks.
@artemis I open all the newsletters I’ve signed up for even if I am not interested in reading that particular one, because I want the writers I enjoy to get credit for people reading them even if I don’t have time to actually read them.
If I’m being stupid and this doesn’t help if someone has the time to tell me that would be great & I’ll stop doing it, but I kind of want Substack to know that I read every bit of Covid information that people write about, even if can’t actually read it.
