How does genocide happen in 2024?
It doesn’t, of course. As Graeme Wood from The Atlantic explains, there are only tens of thousands of legally killed children, that’s all.

@aral Also I'm pretty sure the Geneva Conventions' stance on killing unarmed children is "what? No, absolutely not", not "don't, unless someone else forfeits the child's rights by existing near them"
@bujold @aral I've felt like I'm in the Twilight Zone trying to convince people that it's still murder to kill innocent bystanders to get to the ones you're actually after.
They tend to bring up Hiroshima as some sort of gotcha, and I'm like, "You know that was ALSO bad, right? Like...we were clearly the bad guys in that scenario."
edit: not to mention the fact that "the ones Israel is actually after" is nothing if not debatable.
